Multi-disciplinary teams

At the RNOH, we pride ourselves on our multidisciplinary approach to patient centred care. Our Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs) meet regularly to discuss complex cases and to ensure that patients are receiving the correct advice and care with regards to their treatment, ensuring the very best possible decision making according to the expert opinions of our surgeons, radiologists, microbiologists, physio and occupational therapists.

Research at the Royal National Orthopaedic is pertinent to patient needs.

Our research is focused on musculoskeletal as well as neuro-musculoskeletal conditions, rehabilitation, peripheral nerve injury repair, sarcoma detection, surgical treatments and much more.

We aim to deliver a research environment in close association with our main partner University College London Institute of Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Sciences (IOMS).

IOMS has an international reputation and a track record for innovative translational research.

All of our projects involve significant input from clinicians, scientists and patients, and are supported by our experienced research administration, to deliver:

  • Over 60 on-going research projects
  • Recruitment in excess of 1000 patients a year
  • Demonstrable improvements in patient care
