Maggie was experiencing extreme pain in her big toe that made walking, standing and wearing certain shoes difficult. The pain got worse and worse until she finally decided to seek help. A friend suggested she go to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, north west London, the UK's largest specialist orthopaedic centre.
